I'm not sure if this is my box. mine is R22-200 but has HDMI port on the back.
In any case, i thought i would try to balance out all the poor reviews.
I love my direct TV service. Its never gone out, i love watching all the shows, i love recording anything and searching for anything. i dont read instruction booklets and we figured this out on our own, i've never had direct tv. its as intuitive as it can be for something so complex.
Ive NEVER had any problems with pixelation on recorded shows. everything is great, fast forwarding, reverse.. no problems.
Yes i agree the response to the remote isnt great, but only because you have to point the remote DIRECTLY at the box. :) My box is set back on the floor behind some glass doors. Its unresponsive when im lazy and don't point it. Its perfectly responsive when i point it directly. Not as sensitive as my tv remote its true, but the box is sitting way back in a shelf behind glass after all. only because of this i give it 4 stars. However it hasnt been an issue at all, and we really are the impatient types, and we simply are not bothered by this. we remote over and over and over, and neither of us mention any problems ever.
I used to have comcast. Aside from the fact that they screwed up my bills over and over and over and OVER ... wouldnt fix the sound on half our channels when we called OVER AND OVER AND OVER and canceling their service required TWO trips to their office and sooooooooo many phone calls and the bill was still screwed up... uggghhghghhhhhhhhhh
anyway.. my direct tv is so great! whew! -- I love mine - I've never had problems with it
