User Reviews about DirecTV HR21PRO 500 GB HD DVR PRO Receiver for Ka-Ku Band (HR21PRO)
I recently purchased the DVR as a replacement of the HR23. Although this receiver requires BBC module(s), I found it was a much better, as they call them, "box" for TV quality and imaging. The picture is truly amazing 1080 with a downloaded subsoftware x3a8, orignaly kd22 and sound with the optical outlet is in sync with the Hard drive processor's ability to scan, better, if I remember. Overall very-good at everything coming from a 5lnb satellite dish I installed, with ultra-thin wires, through the patio sliding door. I switched my setup to the HR21 PRO which is made by Samsung, even though it was a money issue, right at first. So now I enjoy watching the tv I get. -- thanks
DIRECTV HR21PRO 500 GB HD DVR PRO Receiver for Ka-Ku Band (HR21PRO) I purchased my HR21 Pro from Amazon.com after seeing it advertised by DirecTv on the first two pages of Home Theater (September 2008). The problem I have with this product is that it is not what was advertised by DirecTv as the HR21 Pro. The photograph of the HR21 Pro in the advertisement clearly shows a 1080p indicator light on the front right panel of the DVR. The HR21 Pro I purchased from Amazon only goes up to 1080i... a big difference. I have read that 1080p signal from DirecTv is soon to be available. I guess this means that my new HR21 Pro is already obsolete. -- HR21 Pro - 1080i or 1080p
